Author: Rache Mcginn Whether you are a working mom or a mom juggling the daily ups and downs with life at home, Me Ra Koh Photography’s Mom’s Survival 101 Kit is encouraging and inspirational. This is not just a Survival Kit for working photographer moms, it is for all moms. Me Ra’s compassion for women shines through as she shares her own life and experiences as a working mom.
I, too, am a working mom and found so much encouragement in this Survival Kit. Mother’s from all walks of life find comfort in knowing they are not alone. I needed to hear that other mom’s were experiencing the same guilt, frustrations and even joys like I was. While I am so blessed to have my own business and work from my home office, I struggled with a work – home life balance. Just like Me Ra, I found myself feeling guilty for not spending time with my kids when I was working and feeling guilty for not working when spending time with my kids. It seemed like a lose-lose situation. Where was the joy in this and was working worth me feeling guilty all the time? I needed a schedule that would allow me to get work done and spend time with my kids…guilt free.
Me Ra’s Survival Kit encouraged me to set up a schedule that would allow me to have this work-life balance my family needed. Our weekly schedule looks a little like this:
Monday:
Run at 6am (me time)
Normal Schedule (school, ballet, etc.)
I am responsible for dinner
Tuesday:
Work day!
Work 5-8am
Kids wake up and we dive into our morning/mid-morning routine before school.
Work while the kids are at school.
Husband home by 3:30 so I can work from 3:30-6:30pm
Husband responsible for dinner
Wednesday:
Run at 6am
Normal Schedule (school, ballet, etc.)
I am responsible for dinner
Thursday:
Work ½ day!
Work 5-8am
Kids wake up and we dive into our morning/mid-morning routine before school.
Work while the kids are at school.
We have activities this night, so I don’t work in the evening
I am responsible for dinner
Friday:
Work Day!
Work 6-8am
Kids wake up and we dive into our morning/mid-morning routine before school.
Work while the kids are at school.
Husband home by 3:30 so I can work from 3:30-6:30pm
Husband responsible for dinner
Weekends:
Family Time and I fit a little work in when I can
As you can see, the whole family is on-board and there are certain sacrifices, like no sleeping in. :) My husband is amazing and is always willing and ready to jump in and help me out. Some of our past frustrations often stemmed from not communicating “the schedule.” By sticking to our schedule we are both always “in the know” each day and we know what to expect.
Thank you Me Ra, for sharing your heart and your life. Your compassion for women and mothers is deeply heartfelt. I am inspired by you and your journey as a professional, a mother, a wife and a woman.

Author: Michelle This is a great support system for moms working on building their dreams. Thank you for sharing your trials and tribulations. As I read about your guilt, I saw myself. That is the MAIN thing I struggle with and this helped me to realize that I am not the only mom that fights the battle of feeling like I am neglecting my children to build a business.
Thank you!

Author: Stephanie I found some of the hints helpful in this product and your tips for branding were great. I do feel like it was very over-priced and am disappointed that I did not get more for what I paid for this.
